Monday
Welcome back for a new week, and a busy week for the Broncos ahead.
Wednesday the club travels to Prince Albert to play the Raiders. The team will travel to Brandon from there and play the Wheat Kings Friday. They will head home immediately following to host Lethbridge Saturday night.
Saturday night I took in the Islanders/Flames game in Saskatoon, or should I say the Bridgeport/Abbotsford AHL match-up.
Even though a lot of the big names didn't play I didn't mind it so much. It was a chance to see a lot of former WHL'ers and several players with Bronco ties from over the years.
The Islanders had former Bronco Jeremy Reich in the line-up while the Flames inserted Jason Jaffray.
Bronco defenseman from last year Johnny Negin watched the game from the stands. He's vying to crack the Flames full-time this season but knows it could be a bit of an uphill battle with seven Flames defenseman on one-way contracts. So there's potentially one spot open on the back-end if any.
Former Broncos Head Coach / GM Dean Chynoweth ran the Islanders back end. It's going to be a challenge for Chynoweth this season with not a lot of veterans to lean on back there. For the most part it's a young and very inexperienced group.
Both Chynoweth and Negrin will join Wednesday's Bronco broadcast from Prince Albert as we catch up to them.
I'll blog some of there thoughts tomorrow or Wednesday.

I'll have some Bronco news later today....
