Broncos Take Loss in Prince Albert

The Prince Albert Raiders found a way to get the go-ahead goal in the third period to eventually win 3-1 over the visiting Swift Current Broncos.

Tied 1-1 in the third, and with the Broncos getting the majority of the chances, Igor Revenko scored his 2nd goal of the game. The Raiders later added a powerplay goal from Jordan Hickmott with five minutes to play to ice it.

Justin Dowling had the only goal for the Broncos. He scored on a first period break-away after getting behind the Raider defense courtesy a nice pass from Dillon Wagner.

There was a lot of positives in this game for me. Morgan Clark was solid in the Broncos goal making 33 saves. He looked collected and confident and made some great saves.

The 16 year-old defensemen Reece Scarlett and Graeme Craig also played well.

It was a game I believed the Broncos were going to win, just based on the way the game was headed in the third period. Credit the Raiders and G Garrett Zemlak for some big and timely saves.

F Dane Muench left the game midway through the first period on what Assistant Coach Tim Kehler called a "re-aggravation of a knee injury". His status for tomorrow night is uncertain.

It's a travel day for the team. We depart from P.A. within the hour headed for Brandon.

Tomorrow's game against the Wheat Kings will be their home opener. We are on the air at 6:00pm with the pre-game show, 6:30pm play-by-play.

More from Brandon....
