Broncos Add Negrin and Stickland From Kootenay

Wow, what a day. Here's the Broncos 5th trade of the deadline and they've saved the best for last . They've added two key elements and have raised the flag a top the ship to indicate full steam ahead.

Here's the press release:

Swift Current Broncos General Manager Dean Chynoweth announced that the club has acquired 19 year old defenseman John Negrin and 19 year old forward Michael Stickland from the Kootenay Ice in exchange for: 16 year old forward Christian Magnus, 17 year old defenseman James Martin and the Broncos 2nd and 4th round bantam picks in 2010.

Chynoweth says We've added two players to our line-up that will make an immediate impact. John is one of the most complete defensemen in the league who can play in all situations and log significant ice time. Michael adds speed, work ethic, and added scoring punch up front."

"In doing so, we had to give up two quality young guys in Christian and James. We wish them all the best in Kootenay."

Negrin is a 2nd round selection by Calgary in the 2007 draft and is signed by the Flames. He has 5 goals and 31 points in 37 games this season with the Ice. Negrin is 6’2” 190 lbs from West Vancouver, BC and played in the ADT Canada/Russia Challenge game in Swift Current in November.

Stickland, a 5’11” forward from Red Deer Alberta, has 13 goals and 25 points in 42 games this season, his 3rd in the WHL. Stickland had 22 goals and 50 points last season in Kootenay.

Wow... miss a day... miss a lot. Sounds like we've improved. But, Reagan will sure miss playing floor hockey in the basement against "That burger guy."

This is all good Jon??

Will miss Guggenberger but it appears there is more to this trade than the average fan would see.

Kootenay trade is a big one that's for sure.
