I don't agree. You should have to EARN your spot on the team. Just because they are playing in your city does not mean you should have a "gift". That takes a spot away from someone that earned it. Fair is fair.

and to mr. anonymous I believe Eric Doyle has EARNED his spot. This is supposed to showcase the best of the best and he is 2nd in league scoring among defencemen so yes that earns a spot.

I keep saying he may be a good offensive D-man, but he rarely goes in the corners to hit or bump anyone off the puck. A must for an international D-man.

It's funny that the league will allow a host team into something as important as the Memorial Cup but they aren't willing to allow one host player in an exhibition event.
