McNaught Gets Five Games

Saskatoon Blades F Randy McNaught received a five-game suspension today from the WHL for his elbowing major and game misconduct in Swift Current Friday night.

McNaught's hit on D Jordan Evans resulted in a concussion. Evans will be out indefinitely.

That's two suspensions on two hits totaling nine games involving Bronco defenseman.

C.J. Stretch was suspended four games for a blind side hit on D Eric Doyle Wednesday night.

5 games is hardly enuff for that hit - what is it, open season on cheap shots to Broncos? More of us should complane to the League next time.

I ma flat out embarrassed for the WHL that they only gave that meat head five games!

Maybe they should suspend the players the same amount of games as it takes the injured player to return, not a certain number of games.

With that theory then Ryan Hollweg never would have played again after his hit on Colin Stone years ago. OK you have a pretty good point!

The problem with that idea is that coaches get stupid ideas. If the player that gets hurt isn't a star, and the one that got suspended is, then a coach may purposely scratch the injured player longer to keep the other player out longer. If everyone could be trusted to follow the "eye for an eye" concept it would cut out a lot of this cheap shot crap.
