Cougars 7 Blazers 5

It was another game dominated by special teams with 5-on-3 powerplays and 15 man-advantages. The Cougars did a better job in that deparment, scoring three PP goals and a shorthanded-marker in the 7-5 win.

It was one of those nights were neither team was pleased with the officiating.

The Blazers continue to give up too many goals and take too many penalties. They lead the league in PIMS and the Western Conference in goals-against. Their penalty kill is also at the bottom of the league. Through this, they are only three points out of the division lead. If they can corral these three issues, the rest of the season looks bright. Problem is, it's easier said than done.

More tomorrow......
