Thoring Likely Out For Season

Swift Current native and former "AAA" Legionnaire Cody Thoring may have seen his WHL career come to a crashing halt.

Last night the Moose Jaw Warriors defenseman was hit along the boards by Tri City American big rig Aaron Boogard. The hit happened in the opening minute of the game as Thoring pinched in off the blueline for a loose puck he was attempting to keep in the offensive zone. Boogard threw his 235+ pounds into Thoring as he crashed hard into the boards and glass.

Thoring was helped off in a stretcher and in a conversation today with Warriors play-by-play man James Gallo, the Warriors are calling it a lower body/back injury and his season is likely over. Thoring was in his final season in the league as a 20 year-old and was dealt to the Warriors from Everett near the trade deadline in the Carter Smith/Jesse Zetariuk for Brady Calla/Cody Thoring deal.

Thoring is said to be in hospital and it good spirits.

Keener have fun tonight in Cranny.
My guess is the lady county singer will sing the national anthem tonight.
I'll put 100 bucks on it!!
I have never seen anyone else sing the anthem there.
Maybe no one else in Cranbrook knows the words??
Good work on the Thoring scoop, and hey don't say anything bad about Dorsett on tonight's broadcast.
My color analyist David Michaud did when they were here, and it prompted a letter to the editor from Medicine Hat.
I guess it probably wouldn't matter, because by the time the Booster published it, it would be harvest time.

It was the country singer, good call.

Big win for the Rockets last night up in PG. Tied for the last playoff spot.

That's funny about the letter to the editor. Your words not mine. Haha.
