Eakin and Dowling Battle the Russians Tonight

Bronco forwards Justin Dowling and Cody Eakin will put on the WHL logo tonight to battle the Russians in Victoria.

At a team WHL practice yesterday, Dowling was centering a line of two Medicine Hat Tigers. He was between Linden Vey and Wacey Hamilton.

As for Eakin, he was centering a line that included Byron Froese of the Everett Silvertips and Lance Bouma of the Vancouver Giants.

The game can be watched live on Sportsnet Pacific. I believe it will be tape-delayed on the main Sportsnet network.

From the game in Victoria, the two Broncos will fly into Winnipeg and then meet up with their Bronco teammates in Brandon in time for Friday's game against the Wheat Kings.

---------

The Kootenay Ice have been fined $500 for their actions in a mini-line brawl against the Broncos Saturday night in Cranbrook.

It was Kootenay's 2nd multiple fight situation of the season which draws an automatic fine. It was the Broncos first, so they avoid discipline.

---------

An old college buddy will be rolling through in Swift Current in style tomorrow. Heath Morin who is now a teacher in Pelle, SK, who reads this blog from time-to-time, won a trip for two to the Grey Cup in Calgary complete with limousine transportation to and from the game.

Heath is taking his dad. They are making a scheduled stop in Swift Current for lunch at the Living Sky Casino. Good deal!
