Monday Update

Back at it after the weekend....

If you're coming here looking for Bronco news don't expect much. I will say the team has some announcements to make in the very near future though. So stay tuned for that.

Graduated players Derek Claffey and Michael Stickland have apparently committed to University's next season. Both are headed out East. The Broncos will be releasing the info hopefully in this week ahead. They're waiting for the two schools to confirm the news.

More and more it appears the maritimes are becoming a popular place for WHL graduates.

------------

Local goaltender Blake Voth is an RBC Cup Champion. The Herbert, SK native won the National title with the Vernon Vipers yesterday in Dauphin, MB.

Voth played in one of the round robin games recording a victory over the Brockville Braves.

------------

Spent much of the weekend in Regina. Ran into CTV sports guru Chris Hodges at the Starbucks on Albert. He was there with his family.

We were both wondering what the Regina Pats next move is. They are now in the process of looking for a General Manager after Brent Parker stepped down Friday afternoon.

------------

The Memorial Cup begins Friday in Brandon. We will have to see how the long break for Brandon affects them. It could go either way. We won't know until the tournament gets underway.

Calgary is rolling...so is Windsor. Whoever captures the Quebec title will be on top of their game too. It's going to be a great tournament.

My prediction? Brandon wins it.

-----------

Short and sweet today.... have a great week ahead.

Jon
