More on Lamb

I see TSN is reporting the Mark Lamb to Swift Current story already on their website here.

An official announcement could take place tomorrow afternoon via teleconference. We are still waiting on some of the details to be shored up.

Stay tuned...

does anyone have a youtube clip of the song 'hallelujah?' Congratulayions on the most sensible and outstanding decision ever made by the BOD. This is a wonderful new era for Bronco hockey. All I can say is 'wow.' The last two months have been the most important in Bronco history as the organization(and turned into a complete class act) off the ice by the last regime and sits in a postition to turn the corner into a perennial 40 win team. If that happens, then it will be in the hunt for april hockey on most years. To close the last chapter and move into this one is unbelievable. Now, if there is one more wish list, hopefully Tim Kehler can remain and be rewarded for his years of dilligence. This is absolutely incredible news. If a player doesn't want to come and play for the Broncos now, then they haven't done their homework. Great rink, great fans, great off ice and educational culture and now a coach who knows what it is take to turn rocks into gold as a player. Hopefully this can be a starting point for many, many years of playoff success.

CDSC,

That's a glowing review. I'd be interested in knowing more.

this is a guy who had to fight and claw from underneath an unbelievably talented group of forwards everywhere he has been. Minor hockey in SC back in the haydays was full of so many superstars it was mind boggling and Mark Lamb always surfaced as an elite player despite being overshadowed by the blue chippers (and I am talking blue chip NHL propects at 12,13,14). Then when it was time to hit junior, he was overlooked in Billings his first time but kept pounding away at it. I remember a call up in Saskatoon at Christmas time of his 16 year old season and he was one of the best players on the ice. Every year guys from big cities showed up after their summers of personal trainers and every year the kid from southwest Sask showed up and destroyed them in fitness testing. Even in the NHL he was known for this high level of fitness. Take a look at his NHL career. How many elite players were in Edmonton, but who stayed in that group and stayed on the ice. Then, when Mactavish needs an assistant - who is the first guy he goes to from his former teammates?? Pretty storied career for a kid from southwest Sask who had to prove himself everywhere he went. You can count on that not having changed. Now, with major NHL experience as a player and coach, add all of that ability to overcome the odds to an organization that is ready for a new level of success and away they go.
