Eakin Gets World Junior Invite

After being left off the initial roster, Broncos forward Cody Eakin will get a look to compete for a spot at the World Junior Championships this December and January in Saskatchewan.

He's been a late invite to the camp in Regina. Here's the Broncos news release:

Swift Current Broncos’ forward Cody Eakin has been added to the World Junior development camp roster.

The World Junior development camp takes place August 5th-10th in Saskatoon and will feature Canada’s top 45 Under 20 players available for the 2010 IIHF World Junior Tournament hosted by the Province of Saskatchewan.

Eakin has previously represented Canada twice on the International stage, most recently at the World Under 18 championships in North Dakota this past Spring.

Swift Current will host a World Junior pre-competition game in December.

Before Cody Eakin laced "em up" with the Swift Current I posted on here stating that this kid would turn alot of heads by scoring alot of goals.

Cody has delivered but in many other ways, more ways than I thought would ever surface.

Cody has had injuries and he has turned into a complete player, hence the Team canada invite. Washington got a steal of a deal at round 3 and they know it!

With Lamb at the reigns watch for a possible scoring break-out season. Cody knows why Team Canada has invited him to camp, they want speed and a disciplined defensive specialist who has the ability to score.

And last but not least, Cody has turned into a natural leader, both on and off the ice.

A bright future lies ahead for this solid hockey player and wise young man.
