Warning: Hard Hat Area

(myself and fellow newsies Jessica Williams and
Darwin Gooding don the hard hats for the tour)

Local media was given a tour of the on-going Civic Center expansion and renovation project Tuesday.

Graham Construction led the tour through what will be the new curling rink, Canadian room, and renovated Civic Center.

They say the job is about half done. The focus will be on the hockey side of things to get the building ready for the start of the season.

I would post pictures but I don't think they'd be all that interesting yet.

It's kind of like looking at a skeleton. Structurally almost everything is in place with the cinder block and concrete. It's still tough to picture the finished product - none of that work is even really close to starting. They plan to really get going on that aspect in the coming weeks.

There will be about 80 on-site workers over the summer months.

Just one more workday for me until an extended long weekend.... should be good.

Keener, I'm assuming that's either a camera phone taking pictures of you, otherwise, I hope you didn't pay much for that camera.
Oh sorry to bother you, it's almost 10 a.m. your time right now so your work day is probably almost done and you're about to head to the golf course....

Yeah, it's just from my phone.

No golfing today sorry Mike. It's full day of slaving away in the newsroom here in Swifty...

Track down Habby on the Moose Jaw situation.
You have to be on top of that considering he is in your backyard.
Nice pic.
I love that Darwin Gooding. Good kid !!!
Nice to see the expansion at the C.C going ahead.
It includes a new broadcast booth??

Rumor has it that Garret Klotz has been charged with aggravated assault in Regina over the weekend, and he did this on camera at a gas station, not to bright there Klotz, hockey career ruined im sure, maybe you can shine some light on this Keener, but thats the " scuttlebutt"

I'd almost feel embarrassed asking Habby that question. I think it's just the rumour mill churning away. Habby wants to be a head coach in the NHL and he's pushing for that.

Not sure if I want to chase the Klotz thing myself (if he's involved at all). I'll leave that up to others. I try to stay clear of reporting on that stuff.

Thanks Bob,

I'll wait and see what turns up. These kids make just as many mistakes as the rest. The difference is everyone hears about it.
