Blazers General Manager Craig Bonner talked about the deal with Regina to bring in F Thomas Frazee...
"He's a big forward at 6"4' , 205 pounds who will be our third leading scorer when he joins our mix. He's put up some good numbers this year and will improve our group," Bonner stated.
"When you look at what we're giving up, Shayne Neigum was a player we got off waivers from Chilliwack. Lyndon Martell was a player we listed and quite frankly would have been hard pressed to make our team next year. The big part for us is giving up a 3rd round pick in the 2012 draft. We didn't have to give up any key components from our team now or in the future so that was a good part for us."
When asked about why the swap of 20 year-olds Bonner was honest about the situation.
"Shayne was a great person, great kid in our room but we just weren't getting enough production out of him. When you have a 20 year old playing on the third or fourth line it just doesn't make any sense. It was something we needed to address."
