Interesting Week

The Broncos kick-off the weekend tonight against the Kootenay Ice after an interesting past two days at the i-plex.

After a 4-2 loss to the Brandon Wheat Kings Tuesday night, the Broncos put on the work boots the next day at practice.

"They don't want to work in the game, they're gonna have to go to work in practice," commented Head Coach/GM Dean Chynoweth following a spirited battle practice.

" I think we can compete and have more to give  against the upper echelon teams in the league but we just haven't shown that on a consistent basis,"  continued Chynoweth.

Yesterday the players took it amongst themselves and hosted a players only meeting following practice.  The message apparently was all about accountability.

So, now the Broncos move forward (they hope) against the Kootenay Ice tonight.  It's a team they've beaten three times.  Once in regulation, once in overtime and once in a shootout.

It's also the first meeting at the i-plex since the four player swap at the deadline.  One of those players in the trade John Negrin knows the Kootenay Ice well.

"Don't underestimate them.  They may not have all the skill in the world, but they do work extremely hard,  but I know we will come out and work just as hard or harder tonight as them."

We're on the air with the pre-game show at 7pm, on the Eagle 94.1 FM.

See you tonight,

Jon
