Broncos Post Biggest Road Win Since Returning

The 9-1 outcome in Prince Albert turns out to be the largest margin of victory on the road in the regular season since the team came back to Swift Current for the 86/87 season.

The Broncos won in the playoffs 9-0 in Medicine Hat back in April of 1993, but last night's 9-1 win is the biggest in the regular season.

Matt Tassone had a career night with four goals and an assist.  At this point it's a two-person horse race for Boston Pizza Player of the Week between Tassone and Keegan Dansereau.  The two have lit up the scoresheet in the last two games.  Dansereau has collected three goals and four assists in his last two games while Tasssone has four goals and three assists in that span.

We will see what happens tonight as the Broncos host the Saskatoon Blades.

More on last night, the score really didn't reflect the game.  Then again, it's often hard to justify an eight-goal gap.

Travis Yonkman made 25 saves and made his best stops in the third period when the game got a bit defensively challenged.

The goals poured in during a third period the Raiders had checked out of. The Broncos weren't trying to run things up, and I know Dean Chynoweth respects Bruno Campese enough not to do that.

It was just one of those nights.

The nine-goal outburst puts the Broncos into 7th in the league in goals scored with 208.  No one thought this team would be scoring the way they are this season after the loss of Dale Weise, Zack Smith Erik Felde, Levi Nelson, and David Steiler up-front.

The Broncos now feature five different 20 goal scorers with Eakin's 20th of the season to get the scoring started last night.  Justin Dowling is just two shy of reaching the mark.

Should be fun tonight.  The Blades were routed in Medicine Hat last night 7-1.  They come an angry bunch.  This is the 8th game of the season series. The Broncos are 4-3 vs the Blades.

We're on the air at 7pm with the pre-game show, 7:30 play-by-play on the Eagle 94.1 FM.  I'm flying solo tonight.  My colorman Tim Tisdale is in the Cayman Islands, while my two back-ups are tied up tonight.
