The Western Hockey League is proud to announce that 115 players will attend National Hockey League training camps in September 2008.
Of the 115 players set to attend NHL camp, 90 were selected in the NHL draft. Additionally, 25 players have been invited to NHL camps as free agent.
32 of the 115 WHL players heading to NHL training camps are already signed to NHL contracts.
All 22 WHL Clubs will see at least one of their players attend an NHL training camp in September. The Calgary Hitmen will see 12 eligible returning players head off to NHL camps, which is the most of any WHL Club.
The Kelowna Rockets and Swift Current Broncos will each see nine players head off to NHL camps while the Moose Jaw Warriors, Vancouver Giants and the defending WHL and Memorial Cup champion Spokane Chiefs will each send eight players to NHL camps.
