Broncos Welcome Special Guests / Red Deer Crime Fighters

Four members of the Riders will be bringing the Grey Cup to tonight's game at the I-plex versus the Kelowna Rockets.

Players Nathan Hoffart, Anton Mckenzie, Mike McCullodough and Marcus Crandell will accompany the Coupe de Grey at tonight's game. The will be signing autographs pre-game and in the 1st intermission.

Another reason to check out tonight's game? The Kelowna Rockets are the best young team in the WHL right now. After the trade deadline, the Rockets boast the 2nd youngest team in the WHL 2nd only to Prince George.

The youthful exuberance has powered the Rockets to 1o wins in their last 11 games as they meet the Broncos in the first and only meeting of the season between the two teams.

How dangerous is Kelowna going to be next season?

Face-off at 7:30pm. We have the action on the Eagle 94.1 FM beginning with the pre-game show at 7pm.

Here's an interesting story from Gregg Drinnan's blog, what a great job from these three young men:

"According to the Red Deer Advocate, three Rebels players put the stops to a robbery on Wednesday afternoon. Brandon Sutter, Luke Egener and Brennen Wray, according to the paper, “were in a vehicle following a team practice when they noticed a person fleeing on foot from Visions in south Red Deer. The Rebels followed the thief in their truck and helped recover an iPod Touch — which they returned to the store manager — after cornering the thief in a parking lot. The robber, however, eluded their capture.” . . .

What the story failed to mention is that the robber, after eluding the three members of the Rebels, came in alone on James Reimer and went shelf for his third of the night.....

Have a great weekend,

Jon
