JK: It looks like you've added a couple guys that will fit into this team's identity... first give me your take on F Shayne Neigum.
Craig Bonner: He's a player that when we played against Chilliwack he was a hard guy to play against. Looking at our forward group I think we needed a guy that was a little bit more competitive up there and would cause some grief for the other team. To be able to do that in the waiver draft for free is a bonus. I really like competitive players and he's a competitive guy.
JK: You've already put a team together that can be tough to play against...just looking to expand that further?
Craig Bonner: Our back-end has been improved and is tough to play against but upfront we needed a guy or two. (Neigum) is not only going to be a leader on the ice but a leader in the dressing room. I'm sure Chilliwack isn't going to be happy that the Kamloops Blazers have Shayne Neigum...and we're fine with that.
JK: Tell me a little about what you like with F Jesse Sinatynski...
Craig Bonner: He's a guy that got into a bit of a numbers game in Brandon last year with them hosting the Memorial Cup. I saw him play a lot in bantam and midget and he's another guy who is also very competitive...borderline dirty-type player. I think you need those guys to win at the end of the day. He's a guy looking for an opportunity. For a 5th round pick we thought it was worth taking a chance. He's a kid I've known for a long time. He's another competitive, gritty, hard to play against guy.
JK: do you think teams are starting to take note of when they're playing the Blazers and know it's going to be a real tough game?
Craig Bonner: I certainly hope so. We want to be a hard team to play against. We have been at times this year but not consistently enough. It's something we're striving to get to. Both these players have an edge to them and we're excited for them to come in.
