Zack Smith's 1st NHL Goal

Zack Smith scored a nice shorthanded goal last night in Montreal for his 1st ever NHL goal. Daniel Alfredsson picked up the lone assist.

I briefly spoke with Zack last night. He wasn't sure he scored initially thinking it went off the cross bar and out. Here's a clip of the highlights.

Hey Jon: Just wondering if you have seen the Cormier hit yet and what your thoughts are.

Ugly cheapshot with an awful result. Video will be replayed over and over. It will be bad for junior hockey as a whole. It's too bad.

Do you think they'll boot him out like they did to what's-his-name a couple months ago?

Not sure just because he's a so called "high profile player". If he was Joe Plummer, he would be suspended for the season already

What really pisses me off is that Devil's GM Lou Lamoriello is defending him saying he doesn't think a permanent suspension is necessary in this case. Guess who's prospect Cormier is? This is exactly what I hate about pro hockey or pro sports for that matter.

Smitty and Dorsett. Two players who were borderline midgets when Tim Tisdale got ahold of them and now look where they are. One can only shudder to think how many more Dorsetts and Smiths there would have been out of this Midget AAA program had Tim been allowed to continue doing what he was doing. The 15-17 years are crucial and both players got what they needed from TT and were battle ready from that point on.
