Swift Current to Host Canada-Russia Challenge Game

Swift Current To Host ADT Challenge

The Swift Current Broncos are pleased to announce that the city of Swift Current and the Broncos organization have been awarded the ADT Challenge on November the 26th at the Credit Union i-plex.

The game features some of the best junior players in the world, as the WHL will host the Russian Junior Team. The game will be featured on National Television, carried by Rogers Sportsnet.

Chairman of the Broncos’ Board Joe Arling says: “We are thrilled to be given a chance to host an event of International exposure. This is a great opportunity for the city of Swift Current and the entire region of Southwest Saskatchewan to have our moment in the sun.”

The completion of the renovations on the Credit Union i-plex gave Swift Current a opportunity to hold an event of this caliber.

Arling adds: “We are pleased that following the efforts of many involved, we can hold an event of this nature so soon after the upgrades to our facility were completed”.

The exhibition contest will have the best under 20’s showcase their talent for the upcoming World Junior Tournament in Ottawa. It is a chance for the fans to see the best Western Hockey League and Russian players showcase their skills. This will be the most significant International Hockey Event to come to Swift Current.

Swift Current is one of only 6 Canadian Hockey League markets that will host the event this year.

The Challenge starts November 17th in Quebec with each CHL league hosting two games. Prince Albert hosts the other game featuring the WHL.

Information on tickets will be released in the next couple of weeks.

Congrats to SC... what a great event for the i-plex to host! Hopefuly there's nothing else good on Sportsnet that night. I remember last year in Med Hat, the ADT Canada Russia game was bumped 'til 11PM because of an Oilers game.

Looking forward to coming to SC for that one!
