Ranford Decision Expected Today; Needham Joins Club

It's expected the WHL will rule on the length of Brendan Ranford's suspension today following an altercation with linesman Kris Hartley Friday night at ISC.

Ranford spoke with WHL Vice-President of Hockey Richard Doerksen yesterday regarding the incident. With two games to go in the regular season, Ranford has already sat one game. The Blazers are moving forward likely knowing Ranford will be unavailable to them this weekend.

15 year-old F Matt Needham will join the team on a full-time basis today. The 1st round pick will join the club for weekend games vs Prince George and for any potential playoff games.

Needham has already played 11 games collecting three goals and four assists.

The Blazers will also bring in a pair of potential recruits for next season - both were awarded Rookie of the Year in their respective leagues.

17 year-old goaltender Cole Cheveldave of the AJHL's Drumheller Dragons will come in for a few days to get a taste of things. The Calgary born puckstopper had a great year in Drumheller and even received some consideration for the AJHL's MVP.

16 year-old Dallas Calvin will also come in. The Trail, BC was awarded the Neil Murdoch Division Rookie of the Year Award in the KIJHL.

Calvin played in 40 games this year with the Beaver Valley Nitehawks and finished 3rd in team scoring with 17 goals, 23 assists and 40 points

Hey Jon, I have a question;

Does Marc Habscheid have compromising photographs of Regan Bartel? The only time Regan blogs about anything other than the Rockets is to make a post about how great Habscheid is.

Is it an example of a cult leader type figure taking advantage of a very weak mind?

I guess he's a fan during the time they spent together in Kelowna...
