Greetings from Prince George where the Blazers will put a wrap to a dismal month of March tonight in the final game of the regular season.
Missing the playoffs wasn't in the cards this season but that's how it'll go into the books when all is said and done. Going 0-5-0-2 this month in what you could call a collapse is just one of the reasons this team will miss the playoffs for only the 2nd time in franchise history.
I'll have some observations early next week as to why the Blazers will be on the outside looking in when the playoffs start next weekend. For now, we'll just wrap up the season tonight, sleep on it and then get into the full breakdown later.
-----------
The Blazers arrived in PG shortly after 4am. The trip up was uneventful but the same can't be said for their Cougar counterparts. They had bus problems and broke down near Williams Lake, BC. They booked in there overnight before a Kamloops bus company sent a bus to pick them up this morning so they could continue their trip home.
The Cougars are still playing for something. They would love a 7th place in the conference to play Kelowna rather than battling a Portland or Spokane in the opening round of the playoffs.
-----------
The Blazers will have exit meetings Sunday and Monday at ISC before going their separate ways for the summer....
More tonight from the CN Center........
