Monday Update / Blazers Seek Anthem Singers

- It's Blazers vs Blazers today in Traverse City, Michigan as the prospects tournament continues. F Dylan Willick and D Josh Caron will suit up for Minnesota against D Austin Madaisky and the Columbus Blue Jackets.

- F Jordan DePape will play for the Winnipeg Jets prospects tonight at the Young Stars tournament in Penticton against the San Jose Sharks. DePape and the Jets then play the Edmonton Oiler prospects tomorrow. Colin Smith had two assists for Edmonton in their 7-2 win over Vancouver. Chase Schaber did not play for Edmonton in the game.

- The Blazers may be looking for a few extra bodies for Wednesday's game at home against the Prince George Cougars. With eight players at NHL camps, and a couple injuries, there's word the team will be recalling a couple players for the game and perhaps the return match-up in Prince George as well. The team is expected to make an announcement tomorrow.

- The Blazers will be holding open auditions for anthem singers on tomorrow night starting at 7pm at the Interior Savings Centre penalty box area. All ages are welcome to attend. For more information please call Ashley at the Kamloops Blazers office at 250-828-1144 or

Why don't you double dip and also sing the anthem Keener? Or if that does't work does it pay enough to move a family of four from Saskatchewan to Kamloops for the winter?

If the Blazers need anthem singers then Swift will trade Larry Jaster and Shawn Mullins to Kamloops to get you back in Swift.

I prefer to be the anthem critic in the booth...but there's nothing like a stirring anthem to set the mood. You're always welcome out here pal...
