The Blazers held their final practice before tomorrow night's season opener at ISC against the Prince George Cougars. Here's some notes:
-Colin Smith was skating on the wing of the top line alongside Chase Schaber and Jordan DePape. Smith is taking Brendan Ranford's spot with Ranford still to serve a three-game suspension.
- After having some success as a unit vs PG last weekend to conclude the pre-season, Matt Needham will center import Tim Bozon and JC Lipon. The three combined for nine points in their last game.
-20 year-old defenseman Bronson Maschmeyer will play up-front tomorrow night. More on that below.
- There was word F JT Barnett suffered an injury today with the New Jersey Devils. There's no word on the severity of it but Barnett's tweet today didn't sound very good. The Blazers confirmed he's being evaluated by the Devils training staff.
F Logan McVeigh is practicing with the team but likely won't play tomorrow night as he battles through a concussion.
