MacLean & Cherry On Whitehorse WHL Game

The WHL and the CBC held a conference call this morning to promote the upcoming ScotiaBank Hockey Day in Canada next Saturday, February 12th.
Don Cherry and Ron MacLean will be in Whitehorse for the events leading up to and the day itself. The Kamloops Blazers and Vancouver Giants will play that evening as well.

"One of the things we're both (Don Cherry) looking forward to is the Friday night banquet," MacLean stated.

"The Western Hockey League will join us, both Brendan Ranford and Brendan Gallagher are both having fantastic years for the Blazers and Giants. We will have some of the players come up and do a Q and A and that will be the thrust of our speech at the banquet Friday night," Maclean continued.

Don Cherry will also take part in the events.

"What I like about it besides the the Giants and the Blazers is the minor hockey team coming with them the New Brunswick bantam Flyers who will play a local bantam team up there. It's going to be Canada all the way. It's great, I love it."

"We're looking forward to our time in Whitehorse and I know we're really going to enjoy ourselves."
