Moose Jaw City Council took the recommendations and made a decision on Monday night. They have voted in favour of a downtown multiplex which will include new facilities for hockey and curling. An indoor soccer facility will be part of the project but will be built at a different location. The soccer facility will go on Thatcher Drive in the Hamilton Flats area of the city.
The project's price tag is pegged at about $61,000,000.
City council is also approving a 9% increase to the municipal portion of property taxes. Owners of an average home in our city will see an increase of about $90 per year.
