Tough blow for the Blazers and Jordan DePape. Perhaps the timing of this helps as hopefully he'll be back and recovered for a final playoff push and the post-season.....
Here's the release today:
The Kamloops Blazers will be without 19-year-old forward Jordan DePape for most of the 2011-12 WHL season. The Winnipeg native’s injury will require surgery. He is expected to miss the next four months and will be continually re-evaluated during the coming months.
DePape, who was acquired from the Brandon Wheat Kings in December 2009, had 21 goals and 48 points in 54 games last season. This season, he had 3 goals and 5 points in 6 games.
The Kamloops Blazers roster now sits at 24 players, including 13 forwards, 8 defensemen, and 3 goaltenders.
