I've been off most of the month and haven't had a chance to update Training Camp.
Here's the info from the Broncos:
The Swift Current Broncos will kick off their 25th Anniversary Season with the Extreme Pita Training Camp on Thursday, August 26th at the Credit Union i-plex.
Over 80 players are expected at training camp and will be split up onto 4 teams: Team Sakic, Team Ruskowski, Team Trottier and Team Tiger. The players will be participating in dry land training, practice sessions and games. The round robin scrimmages will take place at 4:00PM and 6:00PM on each Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Fans are encouraged to check out all of the Extreme Pita Training Camp action free of charge.
The Extreme Pita Cup will be handed out to the winner of the annual Black-White intra-squad game which takes place Monday August 30th at 7:00PM. The cost of the game is $5 per person with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Canadian Cancer Society.

I spoke with Broncos Head Coach / GM Mark Lamb on Monday. We used the info for out sportscasts. I'll try and transcribe some of his thoughts Friday.
Unfortunately, I'll miss the first two days of camp because of a trip down to the States and up to Toronto for some MLB baseball and some NFL Football. Should be a good week but will be talking to the people back home to see how camp is going. I'll be back for the weekend action leading up to the Blue/White game Monday.
I also hope to put together a "10 Things to Get Excited About" post leading into the season ahead.
Hockey season is here.

Are the two newly drafted Euro's reporting to camp next week? I'm hoping to see both those players in camp. I plan on attending the majority of the Broncos training camp this year. News on Ortio? Novotony?
I believe both import selections will be there. Novotny will be there. Ortio will remain a no-show.
Rumor has it Jon, that you are the new voice of the Blazers? Congrats!
Kamloops Blazers?
At least it' not the Pats!!!
Good Job Keener! One more step closer to the big time! Next step the Pat's then the show! hahaha
Patty B.
Congrats Keener!! I was hoping it would be you. Looking forward to having you in town.
Hey Jon...if you're heading to Kamloops, one important thing to remember is that you will not be leaving the Swift Current "wind" behind you. The breeze definitely affects the golf ball in Kamloops!
Congratulations!
Will you continue to blog but from about the Blazers? Of all the sources I have to read about the Broncos, your blog was the best.
Enjoyed listening to your Bronco broadcasts! Good Luck in Kamloops
Keener,
Loved your work. Really sad to see you go.

Thanks for the nice words everyone. I'm presently on holidays and will share my thoughts when I return.
Why would Jon keep talking about the Broncos if he's working for the Blazers? Duhhhhhhhhh.
