The Swift Current Broncos have re-assigned 17 year old defenseman Taylor Ernst to the Weyburn Red Wings of the SJHL.
Ernst, from Regina, was the Broncos second round selection in the 2007 WHL bantam draft. The Broncos have now have 26 players on the roster.

Wednesday Morning
The Swift Current Broncos are expected to release a roster update later today after making a minor adjustment yesterday. I'll post the details once they do.
Cody Eakin participated in scrimmages yesterday with the Washington Capitals. If you go to their website www.capitals.nhl.com . On the main page there is a video of Team A (Eakin's team) taking on Team C. The game ends in a shootout and afterwards you can see Eakin give Alex Ovechkin the stick-tap after the win.
Not much else on the go, just prepping for the season opener Friday against Moose Jaw. This morning a couple members from the Broncos office are coming in to chat about home opener festivities.

Broncos Intro on the Eagle 94.1 FM
Special thanks to Cody Eakin, Justin Dowling, Geordie Wudrick and Taylor Vause who took time to come down to the studio and help us out.
This is the intro we air right into the 1st period face-off after the pre-game show. It reflects this group of players taking the next step in their junior hockey careers.

Tuesday Update...Claffey Named Captain
The old captain is the new captain as the Swift Current Broncos prepare for their season opener against the Moose Jaw Warriors Friday night.Broncos Head Coach/General Manager Mark Lamb has chosen veteran defenseman Derek Claffey as the team's captain - a role he took on full-time after last year's trade deadline in January.
"There's no doubt about it. I've watched all of training camp and he's well respected by the guys, he's well respected by the coaching staff and he's well respected by me. Everything I've seen about him all leads to captain." - Lamb

It's a tough time around the WHL as some of the cuts come down. For some of the veterans it means the end of the line.
On Monday, the Regina Pats dispersed of veteran 20 year-old goaltender Linden Rowat in favour of the younger duo of Damien Ketlo and Dawson Guhle.
Kootenay said goodbye to a couple veterans while Moose Jaw did the same.
As for the Broncos, there may be a group of two or three older players who might be feeling the pinch with younger players looking to get an opportunity.
The Broncos have already made a move like that with the release of F Liam Darragh earlier in training camp. Are they finished?

What's old is new again on the radio airwaves.
Colorman Tim Tisdale is going one of his six annual trips to some island destination later this week. It means he will miss our opening couple of broadcasts as he works on his fall tan.
Insert Ryan Switzer who is no stranger to color commentary after doing the job for five seasons prior. He will join me for the home opener Friday and then next Saturday's home game against the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

The Broncos are hoping for a complete line-up for Friday's home opener but it's still to be determined.
There's word F Cody Eakin could be back in the next couple days in time for Friday's game. D Jordan Evans who was hit from behind by Moose Jaw's Cody Smuk on September 12th is back skating again.
F Dane Muench (knee) and F Geordie Wudrick (appendectomy) are progressing well and are both back skating.
The Broncos are trying to get organized in time for the season opener against the Warriors. In talking to some of the guys, they are excited about the new systems being put in place by the coaching staff and they are hoping to make the adjustments quickly.

There's so many new faces around the team this year. Some of the new guys are scheduled to come into the radio station this afternoon for some broadcast imaging/intro work. That will provide me a chance to get a feel for these guys.
Here's my first impressions....in no particular order:
#23 Andy Blanke - has come a long way in short time after being listed last year. The local product seems thrilled to be playing with the "big club". A hard-worker with some great potential. He led the local "AAA" Legionnaires in scoring last season.
#14 Michael Hay - I've chatted with him during camp. Seems like a nice kid who we all know can put up points after a five-point Black/White game. He put up team a leading "AAA" numbers in Winnipeg. "AAA" midget to the WHL is a substantial jump though. We will see how long the adjustment period lasts.
#17 Adam Lowry - Has grown like a weed since his time last year. May have been 5'9 at best when he joined the team mid-season for a feeling out. Now he comes in at 6'2 and could become a strong power-forward ahead. Word is he loves being a Bronco and possesses a strong hockey sense. He's the son of former Hitmen Head Coach now Flames Assistant Coach Dave Lowry. It seems like the veterans like him already and that can go a long ways.
#26 Dane Muench - A ton of skill no doubt. He's been hampered by a knee injury lately which has slowed him down. Reminds me of a young Keegan Dansereau. A lofty comparison perhaps. Seems to be finding his way. Has huge scoring potential.
#25 Andrew Sullivan. I'll admit I don't know a lot about Andrew at this point. He seems like a hard worker that can mix it up. I'm looking forward to learning what he's all about on and off the ice.
#6 Graeme Craig - Wow, what a big 16 year-old d-man. Listed at 6'4", 215 lbs, it seems he's already adjusted to his big body. Some of the personnell inside the organization think the sky is the limit for the raw talent. Has a lot of work to do to play at this level and will need some good coaching. NHL scouts should be salivating with his size and skating ability.
#28 Taylor Ernst - A versatile player who has played games with the Broncos in the past. Brought in as a defenseman, last year he played up front for the Regina Pat "AAA" Canadians.
#36 Brody Luhning - Has the potential to be a solid puck moving defenseman. I'm thinking the Broncos will spot him in the line-up and get him into some situations he can handle. I'm looking forward to seeing more of his game though.
#7 Reece Scarlett - 16 year-old d-man ready for prime time. A smart, heady defenseman the Broncos have high hopes for. Should see a regular turn on the back-end to start the season. I really like his well-rounded game. Should be a treat to watch develop.
G - Chad Ketting - Impressed my last Friday night against the Tigers going the distance in the pre-season game. I think he's played about as well as he could in the pre-season. In a battle for the back-up spot with Alex Sirard.
G - Alex Sirard - Played in game 72 last season against the Regina Pats. I really like his foot-work and quickness in goal. For me he's been the best goaltender in camp. Really soft-spoken bilingual 18 year-old originally from Quebec before moving to Calgary.

Monday Morning!
It's going to be some kind of week as we get set for the season and home opener Friday night against the Moose Jaw Warriors.
Here's a quick roster/personnel update - Just Cody Eakin remains at an NHL camp as he cracked main camp with the Washington Capitals. His arrival isn't known but it's widely suspected he will be back for the season opener.
Over the weekend the Broncos re-assigned 16 year-old goaltender Austin Smith. The move leaves them three goaltenders (18 yr old Alex Sirard, 18 year-old Chad Ketting and 19 year-old Morgan Clark) Clark is fresh off attending Vancouver Canucks camp.
The Broncos will look to pare down the roster further heading into the season opener.

Speaking of Eakin (above)... talk about a dream come true for the kid.
Eaks, who lists his favorite NHL'er as Alex Ovechkin of the Capitals is playing on the same training camp team as Ovie. The two are on the Caps Team "A" at main camp. No doubt he will have some stories to tell when he gets back.

What a week to prepare for Friday night. We have the guys coming in tomorrow for their Monday Night Football style Armstrong Implements starting lineups for our broadcast. They are the intros you hear right before face-off.

the union address from WHL Commisioner Ron Robison. There is a A LOT to be excited about this season for WHL fans Including the Memorial Cup in Brandon and the World Juniors in Saskatchewan.
GM/Head Coach Marc Habscheid of the Chilliwack Bruins and hopefully Brandon Head Coach/GM Kelly McCrimmon will join us too.

The busy week will all lead into my "super sports weekend" as I've been calling it. Broncos/Warriors Friday night, Flames/Islanders Saturday in Saskatoon and then Riders/Eskimos Sunday afternoon in Regina.
I've heard the NHL tickets in Saskatoon are tough to track down....what's the word out there?

What a Riders game yesterday. It was fun just to know the game was out of reach in the third quarter...not too often as Rider fans can you relax over the course of a game. It certainly was a Banjo Bowl beatdown.
The Bombers have some issues to deal with.
But as the saying goes, as a Rider fan you can never get to high after a win and never too low after a loss...too bad it's what we're famous for.
I actually stopped watching the game and decided to go on with my Sunday afternoon.
TSN's Chris Cuthbert and Glen Suitor are WITHOUT DOUBT, the best 1-2 punch in football. They do a great job. As a member of the media I often find myself with a more critical eye but these guys are good. Hats off.
Now, TSN... since the Riders are your biggest audience draw, can we have them for every game?

By the way, someone who won't be playing in the Friday season opener? The Warriors Cody Smuk got three games for his dangerous his on Broncos D Jordan Evans in Moose Jaw last weekend. The suspension will keep him out of the regular season opener.
The hit may keep Evans out of the game for Friday night... we will see how the week goes.

Tigers 3 Broncos 2 - SO
Wasn't at the game in the Hat tonight but had my "junior sports reporter" T.P. there and he gave me this report.
The Broncos fell 3-2 in a shootout.
Shootout:
Broncos -
Hoban - back hand - no goal,
Dowling - shot low blocker - goal,
Vause - no goal,
Stickland - back-hand - no goal
Tigers:
Valk - goal
Etem - no goal
Okal - no goal
Cameron - goal
The Broncos were outshot 24-22 in this one. They led 2-1 until Medicine Hat tied it with six minutes to play.
Alex Sirard was sharp for the Broncos in goal while Tyler Bunz played well for the Tigers including a game saving stop on a Broncos 2-on-1 in overtime.
The Broncos fall to 1-4-0-1 to conclude the pre-season.

A Work In Progress
I'm going to hold off being too critical being that it is the pre-season but the Broncos lost 6-4 to the visiting Medicine Hat Tigers to fall to 1-4 in exhibition play.

Veteran players G Morgan Clark, Cody Eakin and Justin Dowling are still away at NHL camps while Geordie Wudrick, Jordan Evans and Dane Muench sat the game out with injury.
The Broncos trailed 4-2 in the third before tying it on a couple quick goals from Michael Stickland and Eric Doyle. The Tigers scored quickly after and never relinquished the lead.
Veteran Ryan Holfeld went the distance in goal making 26 saves while the Broncos Chad Ketting played the entire way making 36 saves.
Looking up the Tigers roster it's safe to say they could be the most veteran-laden team in the WHL at this point with a whopping 15 players on the roster 19 years-of-age or older. That isn't including F Tyler Ennis and D Thomas Kundratek who are both elgible (although not likely) to return.
The Tigers have some decisions to make.
The Broncos conclude the pre-season tomorrow night in Medicine Hat in the 2nd half of the home-and-home set.
To close, It's easy to blow this game off as "just a pre-season game" but there isn't a magic switch you can just turn on once the regular season hits.
The Broncos have grown accustom to good starts to begin the season. They will need to simplify their game and limit the turnovers and mistakes that we've been seeing if they hope to continue the trend.

Dansereau, Smith Help Sens Blast Leafs 7-1
Former Broncos Keegan Dansereau and Zack Smith both scored for the Ottawa Senator rookies as they blasted the Toronto Maple Leaf rookies 7-1 last night.
Dansereau is playing for a contract and by all accounts is playing well. He's scored four goals in the pre-season tournament going on in Kitchener.
Former Broncos Athletic Therapist Paul Ayotte is working with the Maple Leafs rookie team at the tournament as the team's lone therapist.

Stickland Ready / Team Update
I was down at practice yesterday and I noticed one guy just flying out there... I quickly realized it was Michael Stickland who is back healthy and looks good.
Stickland suffered an ankle injury just before he was to report to training camp last month.
A point-a-game guy since being acquired at the trade deadline, Stickland hopes to continue that pace this season.
"Absolutely, I'd like to continue producing like that...if I can do that I think our team has a good chance of winning."
Stickland returns with some added responsibility. He's the oldest forward on the active roster and knows he will have to help in different ways this season.
"Some things feel the same some things feel different. You realize you're the oldest player out here. You feel the responsibility to lead the younger guys in their first training camp or first season. For sure you have some extra responsibility."
Stickland will play in his first pre-season action this weekend as the Broncos meet the Tigers in a home-and-home set. It's something he's been anticipating.
"I'm excited to get back. I'm sick of tired of being the only practice player who hasn't suited up so far. It will be good to get back up to game speed and remember what it feels like to actually play."

- Ran into Geordie Wudrick as well. Geordie never did make it to L.A. Kings camp after coming down with appendicitis the night before he was to head south. He had his appendix removed earlier this week and is back at the rink. The recovery time on these things vary but he should be back skating by the weekend or early next week. He wants to be ready for the season opener a week from today against the Moose Jaw Warriors.

Apparently there's a lot of talk amongst WHL General Managers right now. Teams are looking to fill holes in their roster and in the same breath try and find a destination for players who might not fit into their plans this season.
Not sure how active the Broncos are at this point but it would be safe to say they are involved in some discussion.
The Saskatoon Blades will apparently soon have three imports on their roster with the Edmonton Oilers set to re-assign Milan Kytnar. You can only carry two imports so obviously the Blades will be trying to move one - likely 18 year-old Swedish newcomer Hampus Gustafsson.
Don't expect a deal though between these two teams. Although trade partners in the past, I don't think the Blades would be a fan of trading a supposed skilled forward to a team they will play eight times this season. I could be wrong, but I think the Blades will find another dance partner in this one.

Broncos New Look Unveiled Tomorrow

The Swift Current Broncos will unveil their new Reebok Edge uniforms and their newly renovated dressing room on Wednesday, September 9th at 10:00am.
All Broncos season ticket holders and media are invited to get the first opportunity to see the new look uniforms and dressing room.
The uniforms will be worn on the Broncos home opener Friday September 18th against the Moose Jaw Warriors and will be available to purchase on September 9th immediately following the press conference.

Update
Just dropping in for a quick update after spending the weekend in Regina....

Geordie Wudrick is apparently recovering from appendicitis according to a couple of things I've been told. I'll track down the details on Tuesday. He was set to attend L.A. Kings camp.

Hopefully young Jordan Evans will be ok. The 17 year-old defenseman was hit from behind Saturday night in Moose Jaw by over-ager Cody Smuk. The hit drew a major and a game misconduct. While I wasn't there, team staff described the hit as "ugly".
Evans never returned and could have suffered a concussion and possibly an upper body injury. More should be known on his status this week.
No word on a possible suspension. If there is a suspension I think it should apply to the regular season and not the pre-season. Smuk missing some pre-season games is irrelevant. Again, more should be known this week.
Apparently, video of the game wasn't available.

Hopefully young Jordan Evans will be ok. The 17 year-old defenseman was hit from behind Saturday night in Moose Jaw by over-ager Cody Smuk. The hit drew a major and a game misconduct. While I wasn't there, team staff described the hit as "ugly".
Evans never returned and could have suffered a concussion and possibly an upper body injury. More should be known on his status this week.
No word on a possible suspension. If there is a suspension I think it should apply to the regular season and not the pre-season. Smuk missing some pre-season games is irrelevant. Again, more should be known this week.
Apparently, video of the game wasn't available.

Warriors 4 Broncos 3
The Broncos got out of the gates really slow while a determined Moose Jaw Warriors took advantage of some sloppy play to go up 4-0 early in the 2nd period.
The Broncos found their legs in the third period but it was too little, too late. Final score 4-3. Alex Sirard looked sharp in the Broncos goal after taking over for Austin Smith midway through the 2nd period with his team down 4-0.

The Warriors scored two first period goals as Jakub Herman and Thomas Frazee scored. Moose Jaw outshot Swift Current 12-5.
In the second period, it much of the same as the Warriors continued their strong play scoring twice more as Corey Scott and Cody Smuk tallied and it was 4-0 Warriors before the second was 7 minutes old. The Broncos switched goaltenders midway through the middle frame as Alex Sirard replaced Austin Smith.
In the third period the Broncos came out with jump as Michael Hat, Dillon Wagner and Jordan Peddle all scored in the first 10 minutes but the Warriors held on as the Broncos were on the power-play late with the goalie pulled but couldn't equalize.
Final shots on goal were 31 for Moose Jaw and 18 fro Swift Current. The Broncos were 2-7 on the power-play, the Warriors were 1-5

Bring on the long weekend....
- It's the Broncos and Warriors tonight in the first home exhibition action of the pre-season.
I'm not expecting much tonight with a young line-up on the ice... presumably for both teams. But with that said we are only two weeks away from the regular season and the Broncos have a long way to go to get to where they want to be.
Face-off at 7:30pm.

We have received some calls and emails regarding our first broadcast on the Eagle 94.1 FM. There is a slight chance we will broadcast next Friday's exhibition game. If that isn't the case then we will be on the air for the season opener against the Warriors two weeks from tonight.

This is my last chance for a break before the grind of the season begins. One last chance to do something other than hockey before seven straight months of wall-to-wall stick and puck and the work that goes into it.
It's funny, most people don't know what they will be doing from weekend to weekend. Love it or hate it, I know I'll be in a rink somewhere and in a broadcast booth the next 28 weeks plus playoffs with a small reprieve at the Christmas break.
This doesn't just go for me, it's the same for the players, management and coaching staff for every WHL team.
Sure you miss out on some things but when I think about it, what else would I rather be doing?

My weekend begins tomorrow with a Charity golf tournament with friends in Regina at the Joanne Goulet Golf Club and then rolls into Labour Day football festivities from there.
I've heard Molson has donated 200 beer for the weekend. No joke.
Stop by the Sandercock household - 1746 Boyd Street on Regina's east side. It's all in the name of charity for the Regina Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

As for the Riders game on Sunday? I have a bad feeling about this one. Namely because the Riders inability to stop the run and the Bombers' Fred Reid who churned out 260 yards on the ground in his last outing.
The Riders have had the Bombers number lately in the Labour Day Classic, hopefully it continues.

Lots of football fans at the Comp Field for the Comp Colts season opener yesterday. The Colts held their own against Moose Jaw Peacock - last year's provincial champs. Peacock went on to a 15-1 win. The Colts should be just fine this season. I got a text from the coaching staff last night saying they were encouraged with their effort.
Just a side note here. One of the Colts players was attempting to fire up the west side stands for most of the game. While I appreciate his efforts, when you get stuffed in your own end zone and give up a safety, it's not the time to look over to the stands and ask them to get on their feet.

"How are the rats?"
It's a question I get daily from out-of -towners through email, text or facebook.
Truth is, I've seen only one...and it was about a month ago.
The City has gotten a bad rap for this...people outside the city think we are crawling with them. From my perspective alone it's not something I see or think about on a daily basis.
It does grind my gears a little to see reporters and media outlets from CBC TV/Radio, CTV, Global, CHAT, etc. invading our city for wall-to-wall rat coverage. But, we have some individuals in our city who keep feeding the media frenzy so they keep coming back. These people were even hanging outside the City's news conference waiting for reporters to exit so they can get get that craved attention. It's become like a drug. They need that fix... that picture in the paper, name in the headlines, voice on the radio. "Look I'm on the TV!"
I'm not kidding, such a thing does exist.
What the outside media doesn't see is a long-standing grudge by some against the city and it's elected officials.
I love this city and it's people and I don't appreciate being thrown under the bus.
Ryan Switzer reminded me of a quote the other day.
"The fire that burns some keeps others warm."
Is there a rat issue? Yes. Does it deserve national media attention? The hell it does.
Please don't feed the addiction.

Note From Medicine Hat...
Here's a news release regarding the Broncos/Tigers exhibition game next weekend.....The Tigers staff is encouraging a bunch of Bronco fans to make the trip for this one...
Medicine Hat, AB – Medicine Hat Tigers are pleased to announce their new association with Medicine Hat Regional Hospice Palliative Care Society.
The Tigers want to help the Hospice Society reach their goal of building and operating a hospice facility in this region of Southern Alberta. A hospice provides an alternative place of care when hospitalization is not required and family members are not able to provide care at home. Hospice provides a serene, loving and home-like environment for persons to live out their final days with peace and dignity.For those who face a life-threatening illness, time takes on a new importance. The quality of that limited amount of time becomes paramount.
At the present time, this concept of care is available in hospitals, other care facilities and people’s home. Medicine Hat does not have a hospice facility dedicated entirely to end-of-life care. All other Alberta cities of comparable size have designated hospices.
The Tigers will play their only home exhibition game of the season on Saturday, September 12, 2009 vs. Swift Current Broncos. The game has been designated Medicine Hat Regional Hospice Palliative Care Night with all proceeds from the gate receipts being donated directly to this very worthy cause.Game tickets are $10 each and are available at the Tigers ticket office or through the Hospice Society board members and volunteers.
“Medicine Hat Tigers are extremely pleased to be able to help the Medicine Hat Regional Hospice Palliative Care Society kick off their fund raising campaign and also help bring awareness to our community of the need for a facility of this type in Medicine Hat,” said Tigers’ director of marketing and public relations Dave Andjelic.
“We are working to equal or surpass the funds we raised for Tony Aasman and his family in our charity game last September. The Tigers were able to present the Aasman family with a cheque for $28,000.00, thanks to the wonderful support of our great fans.”

Molle Speaks
The Broncos dealt 20 year-old Ryan Molle earlier today to the Kootenay Ice for a 4th round bantam pick next year.
Ryan spoke about his time in Swift Current looking back while at the same time looking ahead to his final season in the WHL with the Kootenay Ice.
Molle admits he knew it was coming.
"We have four healthy guys that can play and are all good enough to play in the league.. and then Taz (Matt Tassone). It was just a matter of what Mark (Lamb) needed to do to make the Broncos better. I'm happy with his decision, Kootenay has a good group of young defenseman and I'm more than happy to join their squad."
I'm just happy something is done...I wanted a home. I'm relieved."
Molle, who was traded to Swift Current from Vancouver in his 17 year-old year says the city really grew on him over the years.
"When you first interviewed me after the trade three years ago I didn't know anything or have anything to say. Now, I can write a three page essay on everything Swift and the Broncos have given me. There's nothing but fond memories, I'm going to miss it."
It's his teammates he's going to miss the most.
"I can honestly say I've met some of the best friends of my life. Guys like Claff (Derek Claffey), he's one of my best buds...we will keep in touch for a long time. I'm gonna miss them."

Broncos Deal Molle to Kootenay
The Swift Current Broncos are down to four over-agers after today's trade with the Kootenay Ice.
Press Release:
Swift Current Broncos General Manager and Head Coach Mark Lamb announced that the club has traded 20 year old defenseman Ryan Molle to the Kootenay Ice in exchange for a 2010 4th round Bantam draft pick.
Molle played the last 3 seasons in Swift Current after being acquired from the Vancouver Giants.

Good luck to Ryan in Kootenay. I know he may have seen the writing on the wall in this one with two over-agers already on the blueline in Derek Claffey and Eric Doyle.
The Broncos get good value in this deal getting a 4th rounder back.
The Broncos are now down to four over-agers which includes Matt Tassone who will not be ready to play until mid-season.

Long Weekend Coming...
What a long weekend in store!
It all begins Friday night with the Broncos hosting the Moose Jaw Warriors in pre-season action will be a good chance to see some of the younger talent first-hand against some real WHL competition. For me, I'll be watching the Warriors close also to see how much their group of 16 year-olds from last season have matured in their game.
Face-off at 7:30pm.

It's a huge year for the WHL ahead. A banner year perhaps?
Not only is Brandon hosting the Memorial Cup in May, but Regina and Saskatoon will team up for the 2010 World Junior Championships in December/January.
The league has to be pumped with the amount of exposure and major events they will be part of.
WHL This Week Radio Edition has enough talking points to last from now 'til Christmas!.
Speaking of the radio show, the first episode is due out in two weeks. Hopefully the other broadcasters around the league can help out as much as they did last year. It was great to have stories out of every WHL market on a timely basis.

The Labour Day Classic Sunday just got that more interesting with the signing of a couple of controversial players.
The Riders signing WR/KR Jason Armstead to help their ailing special teams unit. Gone are the days of Gerran Walker returning kicks and punts. THANK YOU.
Armstead comes with some off-field problems/incidents. He'll get a clean slate here. The Riders have their infamous "code of conduct" in place to deal with off-field problems.
Not to be out-done, the Bombers have signed NFL bad boy Adam "Pacman" Jones. He will likely suit up Sunday and handle kick and punt returns.
There isn't a rule in the NFL that Jones hasn't broken.
Kick-off 2pm on Sunday.

The Broncos announced the signing of a couple players yesterday.
16 year-old defenseman Graeme Craig and 17 year-old forward Dane Muench appear to be sticking around.
These players will be fun to watch develop. Craig is a lumbering 6'4 215 lb defenseman...remember he's only 16. The Broncos also like to think he has some offensive upside in his game as he collected 26 points in 39 "AAA" midget games last year with the Red Deer Chiefs.
He's the younger brother of Bronco draft pick Rodger Craig. Rodger never committed to the Broncos despite heavy recruiting. Rodger was a 4th round pick in the 2006 bantam draft. He's currently with Okotoks of the AJHL.
Dane Muench has a ton of skill and has the ability to play on the Broncos top-six after some seasoning.
the 17 year-old was a top rookie in the SJHL last season in the Battlefords. It will be interesting to see where he finds his niche with the team.

"AAA" Legionnaires Producing WHL Talent
The Home Hardware "AAA" Legionnaires could have four players crack WHL line-ups this season.
Regan Bartel is reporting that Mackenzie Johnston will stick with the Kelowna Rockets this season. The Broncos are keeping last year's leading scorer Andy Blanke.
Two Legionnaires may crack the Chilliwack Bruins line-up in D Zach Habscheid and F Dylan Balaski. Word is they wanted to keep Balaski but he wanted to keep his options open for now.
